On April 5th
Willow Park School for Arts-Centred Learning welcomed various guests in the building who are experts and/or people with Lived Experiences around certain aspects of Calgary's social and economic inequality. We collected qualitative and quantitative data that has led to further work in math and humanities.
You can view our math class Empathy Data Analysis tasks
here. We also created social infographics with examples that can be viewed
here.
In humanities, students will be creating fiction inspired by the people they met and writing letters to political leaders to advocate for the causes they were most impacted by.

|

|
Lee Stevens of Vibrant Communities Calgary |

Throughout the day, these guests were interviewed and they were amazing with how they shared their generous insights. Our students rose to the task and were very respectful and empathetic interviewers. The qualitative and quantitative data collected will now be analyzed to support the creation of aesthetic responses that explore inequality.
There will be much more to share about this day but for now...we have a poster!
